Dry Hire Venue

Dry Hire Venues in London: What You Need to Know + How We Make Them Work Beautifully

Dry hire venues are a dream for modern couples who want to ditch tradition and create something completely their own. If you’re planning a non-traditional wedding or event in London, chances are you’ve come across the term “dry hire”—and might be wondering what it really means.

At Dita Rosted Events, we love working with unique, blank canvas spaces like MKII, Longfield Hall, One Friendly Place, and The Roost. We offer full planning, on-the-day coordination, bar services, venue styling, and décor hire—all tailored specifically to dry hire venues.

Here’s what you need to know.

What is a Dry Hire Venue?

A dry hire venue is a space-only hire—meaning you’ll get the venue, but everything else (furniture, catering, bar, décor, coordination) is up to you.

It’s ideal if you want creative freedom and control over every detail.

Why Choose a Dry Hire Venue in London?

London is packed with incredible, unusual venues—from light-filled studios to old music halls, warehouses, and eclectic townhouses. Dry hire gives you access to these character-filled spaces without being tied into a cookie-cutter package.

A few of our favourites:

Longfield Hall in Camberwell: A Grade II-listed Victorian hall with original architectural features—ideal for elegant, nostalgic, or community-focused celebrations.

The Roost in Dalston: A Victorian townhouse filled with vintage furniture, moody lighting, and layered textures—perfect for editorial-style weddings or intimate parties.

One Friendly Place in Deptford: A quirky, multi-level venue packed with character, colourful rooms, and rooftop access—great for bold, creative couples.

MKII in Clapton: A blank canvas warehouse with industrial charm and beautiful natural light—perfect for minimalist or contemporary styling.

What You’ll Need to Think About (and How We Help)

Dry hire venues don’t come with much—but that’s where we come in.

1. Planning & On-the-Day Coordination

Dry hire means there’s no in-house coordinator. We step in to:

  • Build a stress-free timeline, troubleshoot & come up with creative solutions

  • Manage your suppliers - and finding them too! We have a long list of trusted go to’s

  • Handle logistics and flow on the day - the works that happens behind the scenes is plentiful and too long of a list to mention - just know it’s all covered!

You relax and enjoy—while we make sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

2. Bar Service

No bar? No problem. We provide:

  • Bespoke bar setups (indoor or outdoor)

  • Signature cocktails, curated drinks menus

  • Professional bartenders and all equipment

Whether you want a cocktail hour, make your own drinks station or espresso martinis for dessert—we’ve got you covered.

3. Décor Hire, Styling & Sustainability

Dry hire spaces are blank for a reason—you get to make them yours.
We offer:

  • Full styling & design: Moodboards, layouts, colour stories, tablescapes

  • Décor hire from our in-house styling prop studio: Think mix of style candle holders, bud vases, textiles, draping, lighting, mirror balls, signage, projectors and so much more. It's full of versatile pieces we reuse again and again—so you can rent, recycle, and avoid unnecessary buying.

  • Eco-conscious floral design: Our dried and preserved flower arrangements are long-lasting, biodegradable, and designed to be reused. Less waste, more beauty.

  • On-site setup & breakdown: So you don’t lift a finger on the day

Our aesthetic is flexible, modern, fun, never ever cookie-cutter and always personal. Whether you want bold colour, moody textures, or a clean minimalist vibe—we’ll create something that reflects you.

Questions to Ask When Viewing a Dry Hire Venue

What’s included in the hire fee (tables, lighting, kitchen access)?

  • Are there any noise curfews or time restrictions?

  • Is there parking or easy access for suppliers?

  • Can you use your own suppliers—or are there restrictions?

  • What’s the power and facilities setup like?

Need help choosing the right one? We’ve worked at many of London’s most exciting dry hire venues—and we’re happy to recommend the perfect fit for your vibe and budget.

Final Thoughts

Dry hire isn’t for everyone—but if you want a rule-free, fun, creative design-led celebration in a unique, unusual, one-of-a-kind London venue, it’s the best way to go.

With the right team (that’s us!), these spaces can be transformed into something magical—without the waste, stress, or standardised packages.

Shoreditch East London Asian-Suffolk Fusion Stylish Dry Hire Warehouse Wedding

THE ULTIMATE DRY HIRE BLANK CANVAS LONDON WEDDING CELEBRATION

Pic 1-3 photo credit Elizabeth Alice Holt

Jen & Jack’s epic East London wedding bash was none other than amazing! They had chosen their venue, Shoreditch Studios, which is an urban cool & trendy dry hire, blank canvas space. A converted railway arch in the heart of buzzing Shoreditch. Now they had their party venue, then what. Having busy work lives they got in touch to get some help to bring their ideas & visions to life. A true collaboration, their ideas & dreams + my event planning knowhow & ‘little’ (it’s quite big) book of contacts. Loved working with these two and giving them a dream day.

Nice words from Jen & Jack on working with me + my team.

Dear Dita, Thank YOU so much for ALL of your help and support both in the in the run up and on our wedding day. We truly had the best day of our lives and having you there really meant we were able to to simply enjoy it all. Thank you again! ALL OUR LOVE. Jenny & Jack (so, so many thanks Dita - you were a star *)

P.S Thank you also to your amazing team. And of course to Ross, that pork was still the best ever. We have had so many compliments on the food

Jenny & Jack, Warehouse Wedding, Shoreditch, London

The day started at Hackney Town Hall, after the I do’s they headed to the reception venue on Retro London buses - well the guests did. J+J stopped off at a local pub in Hackney to have a pint (ace!) before joining their 170 guests back in Shoreditch.

The exposed brickwork venue was decorated with nods to Jen’s Asian heritage with pink & purple orchids in blue patterned pots + single stems of red for good luck. Lots of white lanterns + festoons in the ceiling and a curtain at the end to give the room that cosy feeling! There’s was Hygge in the air for sure!

Guests were treated to a fab menu of Dim Sum Dumplings & Oysters reception washed down with Champagne & Aperol Spritz. Perfect summer wedding stuff. For the main meal, provided by amazing Ross, Seven Cherries Food, it’s was an all sharing menu of Scandinavian starter and the star of the show Lechon Pork for main. Suffolk pork as a nod to Jack’s roots. A full-on fusion foodie wedding menu totally personal to the couple. Love it. The huge cake was made by Jack’s mum. After the sit down meal it was all about the Espresso Martini’s - great way to kick off the party! :)

And a PARTY it was - all the way to 3am! - The Atlantic Soul Orchestra kicked it off, then a line up of DJ’s and even a sax player. When guests took a break from all the dancing, they had fun at the photobooth. Epic & fun wedding celebration! Really pleased to have been involved to make it all happen.

BIG UP for all the Brides out there doing a Brides Speech. You all rock. Just like Jen here heading up the spiral stairs doing her ace one to the room.

WOW, this one was a BIG WEDDING. I provided extensive partial planning for Jen & Jack (souring suppliers, catering, buses, staffing, fun stuff) + provided most of the bar. As it’s a dry hire venue J+J jumped at the option of doing a trip to France for all their wines & Champagne.

Huge thanks to Elizabeth Alice Holt for all of her great snaps credited above, rest are by Dita Rosted Events.

Get in touch if you need any help with a celebration you are planning. Thanks, Dita X

Foodie Stylish Relaxed Colourful Winter South London Wedding

Wow, it's taken me a while to get around to blog about this wedding. Back from Feb and my last event at Brixton East - my spiritual event home. Such great memories from this gem of a venue. Sad to see it go, but pleased to finish on such a high!

What a joy it was to work with Rachel & Jack! They trusted me to deliver their vision in full and helped them put their dream day together. Read their testimonial below which says it much better than me. Thanks to my brilliant team and suppliers working hard on the day xxx

Hi Dita, just wanted to drop you a line to say a huge thank you for helping us transform our ideas into reality, and for your (not insignificant) part in creating the wedding we envisaged.
From the day we met you after falling in love with Brixton East, we both knew you were exactly who we needed on our team!!
You understood implicitly what we meant when we said we didn’t want our day to be too ‘weddingy’, and guided us through the potentially daunting world of a dry hire wedding with such expertise, that all notions of stress were taken away!
Whilst we maintained total creative control (something incredibly important to us as we wanted our wedding to reflect us) your partial planning service saved us from hours of googling and hassle, and resulted in you finding us the most incredible chef, who couldn’t have met our brief any better (literally the best food I’ve ever eaten and a view echoed by all our guests).
It also took away the need for us to organise the bar or staff (jobs we didn’t really want!!), and again resulted in the most professional, brilliant team looking after us on the day, with fab service from beginning to end.
You were always available, but never pushy (no mad wedding planner vibes here!!!), and having you around to co-ordinate deliveries and suppliers on both the prep day and the wedding day meant that everything flowed seamlessly and we honestly didn’t have to worry about a single thing except for getting married and enjoying ourselves (which we did immensely!!!) We literally couldn’t have created such a smooth running, relaxed, perfect wedding without you, so thanks a million!! Keep doing what you’re doing!

Lots of love,
Rachel and Jack xxxxxx
